Privacy Policy (English)
Effective October 21, 2026. Applies to the iOS app “分轨” (Demusic).
Summary
Demusic requires no account and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. Stem separation (splitting a song into vocals, drums, bass and other) runs entirely on your iPhone without uploading your audio for separation. The developer does not operate its own data collection server. Adding songs from links involves separate third-party network processing, described under Network access below.
Data we collect
The developer does not operate its own data collection server. The app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs. Third-party servers process network request information when you use “Add from Link,” as described below, separately from the developer’s data handling. If you enable “Share With App Developers” in iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymous crash logs and usage statistics with the developer under Apple’s privacy policy; you can turn this off at any time.
Data stored on your device
- Songs you import are stored in the app’s Documents folder, visible in the Files app and Finder, and included in your iCloud or computer backups according to your settings.
- Stems are generated on device, stored inside the app and excluded from backups. You can set a storage limit or clear them in Settings.
- Audio added from links is cached inside the app and excluded from backups.
- Library index and preferences: song list, per-song stem mixes, play queue, shuffle and repeat, sort order and other settings.
- Separation performance records: song title, device model, timings, peak memory and thermal state for each separation. They stay on device and only leave it if you explicitly export and share them.
Network access
Separation works offline; the model ships with the app. The app connects to the internet only when you use “Add from Link”: for a direct audio or video link it downloads the file from that server; for a YouTube link it connects directly to YouTube to fetch the audio, title and thumbnail (including YouTube’s public oEmbed endpoint). These requests go straight from your device and never pass through the developer’s servers. As with any web request, the remote server receives your IP address and request timestamps and other standard request information and handles it under its own privacy policy.
For YouTube requests, Google’s Privacy Policy states that even when you are not signed in to a Google Account, Google stores collected information with identifiers tied to your browser, app or device and receives information such as IP addresses and request timestamps. Google’s processing and retention of this information are governed by that policy; its listed purposes do not mean that every purpose applies to every request made by this app.
System features and permissions
Song title, artist and artwork are provided to iOS for the Lock Screen, Control Center and headphone controls, processed on device. Local Network access is requested only if a link you add points to a device on your local network. The app does not use location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health data or the advertising identifier.
Third-party components
Demucs (HTDemucs, by Meta, MIT License) is converted to Core ML and performs separation locally without uploading audio for separation. YouTubeKit (MIT License) resolves YouTube links on device and makes requests directly to YouTube as described under Network access above.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual songs, clear all stems, or remove files in the Files app. Deleting the app removes its local app data from your device, but does not automatically delete exported or separately saved files, or copies in iCloud or computer backups; manage those copies through the relevant file or backup controls. Local deletion does not delete records retained by YouTube, Google or other linked servers from network requests; their processing and retention are governed by the respective services’ privacy policies. The developer does not operate its own data collection server storing these songs or network request records.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If the way the app handles data changes, we will update this page and its effective date, and note significant changes in the app’s release notes.
Contact
If you choose to contact us by email, the developer receives your email address and the message content and attachments you provide; please avoid sending unnecessary personal information. Questions about this policy: [email protected].
